In psychology there are many remedies to fear. The psychoanalyst uses retrospection through the person's years as a youngster and identifies factors that triggered the phobia. Behaviorists provide succor either by Gradual or Intense Exposure. The latter process involves purposely presenting the object of apprehension in a structured manner until the patient is comfortable with it. The Cognitive procedure alters the phobic's viewpoint towards the fear through reconditioning of thoughts.
Beyond therapy, fear and phobia can be overcomed because of fear's origin. Fear did not grow out of thin air, instead, it's the product of our mind. The mind makes us experience fear in order to warm and prepare the body, not to paralyze us with indecision. The mind has the power to bring us to our knees with fear as well as lift us even as we buckle before fear. Fact is, fear is just in our head and having nothing to fear but fear itself can be the soundest advice to any frightened soul.
